Inner struggle

Deep down inside theres a war going on
Oh Lord help me I can't win it on my own
Self must die NOW theres only a little time left
It is a very serious matter of life and death
How can I trust myself, I am naturally carnal
Naturally opposed to God's will, Im naturally sinful
My will and plans everyday is conflicting with the Lord's
I must die and surrender these things, learn to suffer more
The things I want to do I dont, the things I dont want to do, I do
Wanting to do whats right but naturally in my carnal mind all I do is hurt you
Grab a nail and a hammer why? cause you just lusteth after the flesh
Drive it Jesus's hands and feet once again cause you crucified him afresh

I must stay sober can't make any provisions for the flesh
Gird up the loins of your mind, dont get caught up in wordly mess
You really need a new mind a new heart, you need to be transformed
But dont allow yourself at any given moment to be worldy and conformed
Time is winding down, you have no time to lose be ready
you have a great death to self you must die so dont get heady
Who are you really willing to please? God or have your own sinful way
Oh wreched man that I am who can deliver me from this body of death, Jesus saves

If I live in the Spirit I will have life and peace
With Jesus Christ abiding in me, my mind is at ease
No more worries, no doubts when my mind is stayed on Christ
Knowing that for me, with his life, he paid a very high ultimate price
Touched with what I go through everyday how can I give in to the flesh
With Christ abiding in me there is no sin, no failure,no weakness, no stress
If I overcome it is through his blood in which there is wonder working power
EVERY thought,word, action must be based on Christ EVERY minute and EVERY hour
